The calculators are free. Here is exactly how the site pays for itself, in plain terms.
Affiliate commission
Some links to financial providers are affiliate links. If you open an account through one, the provider may pay us a commission. It costs you nothing and does not change the terms you receive.
Affiliate links are labelled on the page. We only include a provider we would be willing to describe accurately without the commission, and a commission never buys a placement or a rating.
Display advertising
We show advertising from third-party networks. Advertisers have no involvement in what we publish and cannot see content in advance.
We offer free reports and a short email list. We do not sell or rent your address, and one click unsubscribes.
What this does not affect
Rankings, ratings, criteria and recommendations. A provider that pays more does not rank higher, and a provider we cannot verify does not appear at all - which is why some comparison pages currently show no table.
If you would rather not use our links, every provider we mention can be found directly. The guides are written to be useful either way.
Frequently asked questions
Do affiliate links cost me anything?
No. The terms you receive are the same as going direct.
Can a provider pay for a better rating?
No. Ratings and rankings are not for sale.
Why are some comparison tables empty?
Because we have not finished verifying providers in that category, and we will not publish a table we cannot stand behind.
